talentmap Set for 7th July Launch

talentmap is to be officially launched on 7th July 2009.

Developed by the UK Commission for Employment and Skills and a broad coalition of employer organisations, brokers, government agencies, talentmap will provide a new online tool and framework, which will help companies nationwide develop work-based talent and skills, improve competitiveness and also deal with issues around skills shortages and gaps.  talentmap will also  give employers a simple overview of the education, employment and skills system in the UK, help them to engage with the system and to find out the support they need to improve performance through talent and skills.talentmap offers jargon free advice to employers in a common language and will break-down what can be a daunting task of finding out how to access publicly funded assistance. The website’s search tool will direct users to over 100 partner sites offering information on how to access publicly funded support making talentmap a valuable tool in the support and growth of businesses and individual employees at all levels of the workforce.

Graham Hasting-Evans, Project Director, added, “When markets are shrinking and order books falling, now is the time to fully invest in the talent and skills of the people we employ.  It is the commitment, productivity and ability of our people that will keep us competitive and ready to benefit from the recovery.”

talentmap Beta Testing

The talentmap web tool is currently being tested by a number a number of organisations who have been asked to provide feedback on the site. There are now over 80 partner sites whose content will feed directly into talentmap search results.

As development moved into the final stages,  talentmap Project Director Graham Hasting-Evans commented 'We are now in a crucial phase and the feedback we have received to date has been both informative and positive".
